Recommendation

Recommendation 1

1. Taking into account our investigation of AIG online networking promoting structure we trust that there is a lot of space for improvement. With Team connect being their main system of connecting all departments we have come to find out that it also has a lot of flaws. The use of Team Connect is to eliminate silos and make sure all data is represented and shared between these departments instantaneously. That is not the case and it hinders business sometimes especially if a dynamic decision needs to be made.

1a.The main proposition for this issue would be for AIG to outsource their ERP framework to another organization One of the possible outsourcing options is a company called Epicor.  Epicor is rated as one if the best ERP systems and would do the same thing as Team Connect but in a more reliable manner. There wouldn’t be any more delay, and if a problem does occur Epicor usually is a vender who will have in house support for its systems.

1b. Since AIG lacks knowledge and experience relative to enterprise systems, relinquishing their control to a company with expertise would be a suitable option. The following proposition would be for AIG to convert to ASP System. An ASP framework, or application administration supplier framework, is programming that gives PC based administrations to different clients by method for a system. Fundamentally, the ASP seller houses the product and permits clients to get to the product. This methodology considers clients to utilize programming, which can be fairly costly, without having to really purchase it. Clients for the most part utilize the product through a standard convention (like HTTP) or by independent programming gave by the ASP.

Solution
After careful thought we have arrive at the conclusion that proposition 1a, is the ideal decision for AIG. This choice will give a more elevated amount of control for AIG and its individual divisions. Although some companies don’t use an ERP system, the ones that do use them are because they are reliable and give some flexibility. Epicor will be just an upgraded form of Team Connect that they use now and wouldn’t bring major changes, besides more fluidity. An ASP system relinquishes all that control to the vendor and gives AIG no real support if they want to customize their systems. ASP systems are cheaper, but as a result limit the functions that can be controlled especially because everything is all outsourced.

Recommendation 2

2. Furthermore, we feel strongly with ever changing technology that the protocols and procedures to prevent data loss needs to be updated constantly by AIG.The organization has humble security frameworks, yet we understood there is opportunity to get better particularly with progressing APT assaults (Advanced Persistent Attacks).

2a. The first recommendation we suggest is server virtualization. In particular, AIG can benefit from the use of virtual servers. Essentially, one server performs the work of many. Along with cost benefits, virtualization also makes disaster recovery easier. This can be especially beneficial if any one were to try and hack through AIGs data. Without having a simple server it makes it hard to pinpoint where the information is at what given time. This also eliminates the need for many in house servers saving a company more if they can find how to do so for the right price.

2b. The second recommendation would be to Spend the money on training all staff on how to prevent APT attacks. By doing this the company can therefore spend a lot to hopefully save themselves a lot of money in the long run. Teaching people how to guard against APT attacks would make it harder for hackers to slip by unnoticeable.

Solution
We have chosen the best arrangement is 2a. Security is important for employees and the business as a whole. Any increase in security is beneficial, however, by having a cloud it does make it hard for someone to hack and pinpoint one exact location. If the company chooses a vendor that works in countries that are regulated well then the risks of data loss would be minimal. Teaching employees how to guard against threats is also a great option, but the only problem is that a lot of security mishaps are due to human-error no matter how well trained they are.
